Introduction
This is an annoucement of the Summer Institute 2000 held in Japan,
Ausust 2000.  The Summer Insitute of Japanese theoretical particle
physicists started in 1995 and the SI2000 is the 6th of this
series. It aims an Aspen-type Institute. This year it will be held at
the Nikkeiren Fuji Seminar House nearby Mt. Fuji.  It consists of two
parts: the first half (August 7 to 14) is the string session and the
second (August 14 to 21) is the phenomenology session.

Participants are mainly Japansese, but we also expect some foreign
participants. During the summer institute, we plan to have a seminar
in the morning and essentially the rest time will be devoted to
discussion, though we will have volunteers who want to give informal
seminars, arrange informal meetings etc.  The informal meetings so far
covered in the phenomenology session of SI2000 will include
supersymmetric unified theories, extra dimensions, and particle
cosmology.  We expect other topics as well. In the beautiful location
nearby Mt. Fuji, we would like to share a good opportunity to discuss
physics with a very informal and relaxed atmosphere.

Schedule

Dates:
Session 1 (string):        August 7 afternoon to 14 morning
Session 2 (phenomenology): August 14 afternoon to 21 morning
*Right after the second session we will have a postSI2000 workshop on
